TNG on AI: We Want to Hear From You!

Today, we are sharing an important request that will help our parent union determine how to best support news and media workers in the face of rising use of artificial intelligence. The rapid surge of AI not only threatens IAPE-represented jobs—as our members in Finance know all too well—but has profound implications for the news industry and our democracy.

The NewsGuild is partnering with researchers on a study of how AI is being used in news and media workplaces. The goal is to learn more about how members are engaging with and responding to AI, and how our union can best support AI-related worker priorities.

As part of this study, TNG is conducting a survey of all NewsGuild members. This survey is critical to informing how our union can help support media workers in the age of AI, and it is important that we get as many IAPE members as we can to participate in this survey.

We ask that you take an estimated 10-15 minutes to participate in this important survey.

The more responses we receive from IAPE members, the better TNG will be able to draw useful conclusions, inform our union's priorities, and help support media workers in the age of AI. The Guild will share the survey findings with all members, but your individual responses will remain anonymous.
