Jodi Green Elected IAPE President, Members Approve Elimination of Dues Cap

The IAPE Elections Committee has been informed by the American Arbitration Association that a majority of eligible voters have voted to elect Jodi Green as President of the Independent Association of Publishers’ Employees (IAPE), Local 1096 of The NewsGuild-CWA.

Ms. Green received a total of 236 votes, compared with 155 for Stephen Nakrosis. The IAPE Elections Committee declares Jodi Green elected President for the term of office beginning Dec. 1, 2020 and concluding on Nov. 30, 2023.

The Elections Committee has been informed that the proposal to eliminate the Union dues cap has been approved by IAPE members by a count of 259 to 142.

407 of 1,302 eligible members returned ballots before the election deadline, for a 31.3% participation rate. 391 members cast votes for the position of President, while 401 members voted on the dues cap referendum. One envelope was set aside and not counted because the envelope contained no identification to check eligibility. One envelope was voided because AAA received two ballots from the same voter.

Consistent with the constitution of the Communications Workers of America, these tentative results shall be declared “final” unless a challenge is received within ten (10) days. Challenges must be filed in writing with the IAPE Elections Committee by 5:00 p.m. EST, Nov. 15, 2020.
