Job Cuts

There's more bad news at Dow Jones.

DowJones.jpg

On the heels of last week's announcement of 14 job cuts in News, Dow Jones has cut another 11 jobs. This time the brunt of the cuts was among tech support with 8 IAPE-represented employees in South Brunswick, 2 in Palo Alto and 1 in Atlanta being laid-off.

Separately, we've been told of 24 non-IAPE and/or management lay offs in the latest round of job cuts.

Just as was the case in each of the layoffs and outsourcing decisions Dow Jones has made over the past three years, these cuts are regrettable. Just as was the case in the earlier cuts, some very good people are losing jobs — and the company is losing a valuable resource as more dedicated, hard-working employees are being discarded.

As always, we will review the specific circumstances of each of the layoffs of IAPE-represented employees and will do everything necessary to ensure that the terms of the contract are followed.

If you have any questions reach out directly to Union Organizer Tim Martell at the IAPE office.
