Washington Post Contract Ratified
Washington Post Co. union members approved a new two-year contract.
The contract will protect 25% of newspaper employees from future job cuts without taking their seniority into account. Post employees aren't granted salary increases in the new contract but will receive as much as a $1,000 payment from the publisher this year. The contract will also provide for some Washington Post web-site employees to join the Guild for the first time.
