Ratification Ballots
After correcting some system glitches, TrueBallot, the independent election service hired by IAPE, has e-mailed the DJ IAPE contract ratification ballots and instructions to all eligible voters AT YOUR COMPANY E-MAIL ADDRESS.
I received my ballot Saturday evening at 7:59PM with the sender identified as Elections@trueBallot.com and the subject line of Election 2007.
Please find your ballot in your in box, open it, follow the instructions and vote. If you have any questions or concerns regarding your email ballot, please contact electioncommittee@iape1096.org.
The IAPE Board of Directors has recommended a "yes" vote, convinced that this is the best we could negotiate at this time and under these circumstances: the general condition of the industry and the pending takeover by News Corp.
I agree with the Board's assessment — and with its recommendation that you vote "yes" on the proposed contract.
As Dow Jones becomes another division of News Corp. you— and your family — need the written — and enforceable — protections of a contract.
